Body of Kahana beating victim identified

Two Kane'ohe men found Hannon's body Feb. 25 near the fishpond about 2 p.m. She died from massive head injuries, an autopsy determined. The medical examiner's office identified the body.
Police have opened a homicide investigation. No one has been arrested.
Lt. Bill Kato, supervisor of Honolulu police homicide investigations, said investigators are canvassing the area between Ka'a'awa and Punalu'u, where Hannon lived the past 10 years. She rode a bicycle and was often seen collecting bottles and cans in the area.
Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area of the fishpond Feb. 25 or with information about the case is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-9300 or *CRIME on a cellular phone.
