Electrical problem blamed in Kaua'i school fire

LIHU'E, Kaua'i — Fire investigators said today that an electrical problem in a power outlet or in the television set attached to it caused a fire Sunday that destroyed a portable classroom at Wilcox Elementary School."The Wilcox school fire is not of suspicious origin," a fire investigator said, indicating arson was not involved.
The blaze was spotted before dawn Sunday, and was extinguished before it could cause more than minor charring to neighboring classrooms.
