By Catherine E. Toth
Advertiser Urban Honolulu Writer

The Friends of St. Patrick will host its 53rd annual Emerald Ball on Saturday at Planet Hollywood in Waikiki.

The event, which is open to the public, begins at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 8.

The annual ball is a major fundraiser for the nonprofit organization's scholarship fund. The Friends of St. Patrick awards eight scholarships every year.

There will be a silent auction of Irish-themed items, live Irish music by Two Hearts, Irish dancing and singing, and a dinnertime harp performance by Rebecca Smith.

Cost is $50 per person. Reservations are required.

Tickets are available at Kelley O'Neil's in Waikiki and O'Toole's Irish Pub in Downtown.
