Rainbow Wahine win two in softball tournament

Justine Smethurst pitched a three-hit shutout to lift Hawai'i to a 6-0 victory over Liberty (Va.) in the Hawaiian Airlines Spring Fling Tournament at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.In the Rainbow Wahine's first game, Brandi Peiler hit a grand slam and a solo shot in an 8-6 victory over University of the Pacific.
In the second game, Smethurst struck out nine and walked two. Tanisha Milca and Claire Warick hit homers for the Rainbow Wahine (19-5).
In the first game, UH pounded UOP pitching for 15 hits. Warick went 4 for 4 and Milca hit a homer. Kate Robinson pitched a complete game to improve to 4-0.
