Waikoloa man shot to death

Big Island police are investigating a homicide in Waikoloa.

Responding to a 4:07 p.m. report of a shooting in the employees' parking lot at the Kings' Shops on Waikoloa Beach Drive, South Kohala police determined that a 38-year-old man had been shot, multiple times, to death.

The victim's name is being withheld until his family is notified.

Police arrested a 53-year-old Waikoloa man on suspicion of second-degree murder but have not charged him. He is being held at the Kealakehe police station while the investigation continues.

Detectives assigned to the Area II Criminal Investigations Division are at the scene investigating the shooting.
