Town-bound traffic congested in Waipahu, Pearl City

Advertiser Staff

Town-bound traffic is heavy this morning coming in from both East and West O'ahu.

Traffic on H-1 Freeway was backed up almost to the Kunia Road on-ramp as of 7:45 a.m. The H-1/H-2 merge was packed solid and the congestion continued through Waipahu and Pearl City. The travel pace picks up past the Ka'amilo Street overpass.

The Middle Street merge is bumper-to-bumper and traffic remained heavy in through Kalihi, Liliha and the downtown area.

East-bound traffic flow picks up past the Punahou off-ramp.

West-bound traffic is starting to stack up prior to the Koko Head Avenue overpass and remained solid the rest of the way into town.

One bright spot: Motorists on the Pali Highway heading into town from Kane'ohe and Kailua are experiencing only minor delays.
