Man, 63, hit by truck in 'Aiea in critical condition

Advertiser Staff

A 63-year-old man who was struck by a 2006 Toyota Truck last night in 'Aiea remains in critical condition at The Queen's Medical Center.

Traffic investigators said the man had just parked his car on Nahele Street near the 98-174 block in the Newtown subdivision when he was struck. Police said the man had exited his vehicle from the driver side and was walking across the street — not in a crosswalk — when he was struck by a truck traveling south that was driven by a 60-year-old man.

The accident occurred at 7 p.m.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors, police said.
