Teacher pleads no contest to smoking marijuana

Advertiser Staff

A Mililani Middle School teacher decided today not to challenge a petty misdemeanor charge of smoking marijuana filed against her last year.

Lisa Luhrsen, 36, of Waipahu, pleaded "no contest" to the charge that she was smoking marijuana in a pickup truck at the Mililani Park and Ride at about 8:45 a.m. Dec. 4.

Wahiawa District Judge Clarence Pacarro granted Luhrsen's request to have the case dropped if she stays out of trouble for six months and pays a $400 fine.

Luhrsen and Benjamin Ayson, 32, of Kane'ohe, another Mililani Middle school teacher, both were accused of smoking marijuana before school.

His petty misdemeanor charge is still pending.
