Arrest in bar-hostess assault incident

A 29-year-old man was arrested early this morning after a bar hostess told police the man had assaulted her early Monday morning.

The woman, 32, told police that at about 1 a.m. Monday she saw him drinking a beer in the parking lot in front of the bar where she works.

She told police that she then informed the man he wasn't allowed to drink in the parking lot and took the beer away from him. The man then knocked her to the ground, continued hitting her and finally ran away.

The woman told police she later went to the hospital for treatment of a fractured rib.

Police were called early this morning after the same man returned to the bar. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Two men arrested in tie to car break-in incident

Police arrested two men, ages 24 and 27, early this morning after spotting one rummaging through a car near the corner of Sheridan and Kamaile streets.

Police received a call of a car break-in in progress about 2:45 a.m. Responding officers reported finding one man inside a car and the other acting as an apparent lookout.

The two men ran away when police approached them but were captured a short time later.

Police arrested the pair on suspicion of first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, a felony offense.

Police spot gun in car during traffic stop

A 21-year-old Pearl City man was arrested at 12:05 a.m. after a police officer reported finding a gun on the floor of the car he was driving when stopped for a traffic violation.

The man was arrested on suspicion of failing to properly store a firearm.
