Servco taking over as Subaru dealer on O'ahu

Advertiser Staff

Subaru vehicles will be sold through a new O'ahu dealership after being acquired by Servco Pacific Inc. from Schuman Inc., Servco officials announced yesterday.

Servco will establish a new dealership for Subaru vehicles in Mapunapuna, and continue to work with the existing dealer network on the Neighbor Islands, which include Hilo Subaru, Kona Subaru and Island Subaru Maui, the company said.

Seven Schuman employees will be affected by the agreement, but Servco officials said they will be offered positions with Servco.

Details of the transaction were not released.

Under terms of the agreement, Servco will become the sole Subaru dealer on O'ahu, said Glenn Inouye, senior vice president for Servco.

The deal is expected to close next week, at which point Pflueger, which has four O'ahu Subaru showrooms, no longer will be an authorized Subaru seller, Inouye said.

Servco distributes Toyota, Lexus, Scion and Suzuki vehicles. It is the dealer for Toyota, Scion, Suzuki and Chevrolet on O'ahu. Servco also is the dealer for Lexus on O'ahu and Maui, and the dealer for Toyota on Kaua'i.
