BYUH men ousted from NCAA II West Regional, 71-68

Prentice Harris scored 18 points and Ivan Johnson added 16 as Cal State San Bernardino ousted Brigham Young-Hawaii, 71-68, in the opening round today of the NCAA Division II men's basketball West Regional at Arcata, Calif.

BYUH, the region's seventh seed, finished 20-8. Cal State-San Bernardino, seeded second, is 23-5.

Eric Boyce led BYUH with 18 points. Lucas Alves had 13 points and seven rebounds.

BYUH shot 62 percent (26 of 42) from the field, but was plagued by 31 turnovers. CSUSB shot 45 percent (25 of 56).

The semifinals of the regional will be held tomorrow, with the championship game for a berth in the Elite Eight taking place Monday.
