WAILEA
New ambulance station planned

Advertiser Staff

The Wailea Community Association is proposing to build a new ambulance station at the Wailea Fire Station.

The 1,500-square-foot building would house an ambulance, sleeping and living quarters for two people, an office, a small kitchen and a medical supply storage area.

Related improvements include four parking stalls and a paved driveway off Kilohana Drive.

The nonprofit association plans to convey the project to the county, which would lease the building out to an emergency service provider.

A special management area permit is needed before construction can begin.
