Quiksilver's gift: $109,000

The Quiksilver Foundation will present $109,000 to three North Shore groups today at Haleiwa Joe's Restaurant.

The North Shore Community Land Trust will get $100,000 to launch the Pupukea Paumalu Stewardship Fund. The trust joined with private and government partners to purchase and preserve 1,129 acres of coastal bluffs above Pupukea.

Also, Punana Leo O Ko'olauloa, a Hawaiian immersion school in Kahuku, and Hui Malama O Pupukea-Waimea, a volunteer organization committed to stewardship of the Pupukea Marine Life Conservation District, will each receive $4,500 from the Quiksilver Foundation.
