Kona traffic delays likely with utility-line project

Advertiser Staff

Kona drivers should plan for traffic slowdowns as Hawaiian Telcom transfers its overhead lines to new poles at the corner of Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway and Kaiwi Street.

The transfer is part of the state Highways Division road-widening project on the highway.

The work will take place beginning at midnight Sunday and continue until approximately 4 a.m. Monday. The work may require temporary road closures.

Police officers will help direct traffic, but drivers should anticipate some delay.
