Castle alum Wilson shoots 68, ties for 21st in PGA

Former Kane'ohe resident and Castle High alum Dean Wilson shot 3-under 68 today in the PODS championship in Palm Harbor, Fla.

Wilson had five birdies and two bogeys in his round today and is 3-under for the tournament at 210.

He is tied for 21st place with five other golfers, including Mark Wilson.

The leader is 46-year-old Mark Calcavecchia, who made 10 birdies and tied the Copperhead course record at Innisbrook with a 9-under 62, going from the middle of the pack to a share of the lead with Heath Slocum, who birdied the last hole for a 67-204.

K.J. Choi shot 67 and was another shot behind.

Former Honolulu resident and Punahou alum Parker McLachlin missed the cut on Friday.
