Pepperdine foils Warriors' upset bid in volleyball

Paul Carroll had 23 kills to lead top-ranked Pepperdine to a 28-30, 30-19, 30-28, 30-28 volleyball victory over Hawai'i today in the Stan Sheriff Center.The Waves, who improved to 16-1 overall and 13-1 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, rallied from a 21-14 deficit in game 4.
The Warriors fell to 3-13 and 3-11. They were led by Matt Vanzant's career-high 24 kills.
