Ex-Kalani pitcher Komine optioned to AAA Sacramento

PHOENIX — The Oakland Athletics optioned right-hander Shane Komine and outfielder Javier Herrera to Triple-A Sacramento before their game against the Seattle Mariners today.Herrera, one of the A's top prospects, missed last year after reconstructive right elbow surgery.
Komine is a Kalani High and University of Nebraska alum. He appeared in two games for Oakland last season, allowing five runs in nine innings with no decisions.
In addition, left-hander Derek Thompson, catcher John Baker were reassigned to the A's minor league camp.
