TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"The New Adventures of Old Christine" return, 7 and 7:30 p.m., CBS. After a brief rest, this comedy returns. The first episode is hilarious; the second is OK. In the first, Christine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) has trouble sleeping. She thinks she's solved it with sleeping pills ... until she learns about calls she made in her sleep. In the second, she meets the handsome brother of her ex-husband. This is a so-so episode until late in the half-hour; then it has a he-said/she-said story that's wondrously tangled and abstract.

OF NOTE

"Kings of South Beach," 6 p.m., A&E. Donnie Wahlberg and Jason Gedrick star in this story of big-timers who brought glamour and violence to Miami's South Beach.

"Deal or No Deal," 7 p.m., NBC. "Heroes" gets the night off, so "Deal" has two hours. Contestants include Gen. Hugh Neisler of Macon, Ga., and Dave Atherton, a bagpiper from upstate New York.

"House," 7 p.m., Fox. In a transplanted rerun, a young man was stricken after raucous sex with his girlfriend. Dr. House is stumped; he's also obsessed with Vicodin.

"24," 8 p.m., Fox. Rick Schroder arrives as a new Counter Terrorism Unit agent who makes a quick impact. Meanwhile, the government considers a drastic step.

"Two and a Half Men," 8 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, Charlie doesn't want to go to an awards banquet that's always dominated by his nemesis (Jon Lovitz). The family tricks him into attending — then shares his dislike for the guy.

"CSI: Miami," 9 p.m., CBS. In this rerun, a woman has been killed after being auctioned off in a charity fundraiser.

"The Black Donnellys," 9 p.m., NBC. Covering up his murders is getting perilous for Tommy Donnelly. Now he's asked to host the wake for Huey — the Irish mob leader whom Tommy killed. What follows is quiet and intense, with powerful emotions emerging in short phrases and deep stares. A closing confrontation reminds us this is great drama.

"What About Brian," 9 p.m., ABC. It's a hectic week for Dave. Deena's mom (Meredith Baxter) is in town. Also, he gets in a fist fight with Deena's ex-lover. And his friend Brian has given him a good assignment, against the wishes of their boss (Tiffani Thiessen). Meanwhile, Adam and Nicole face the aftermath of their one-night stand.
