Plant class looks at 'air layering'

Advertiser Staff

Residents can learn basic propagation of their favorite plants while helping to increase the inventory of important conservation species in a class from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Waimea Valley Audubon Center on the North Shore.

Plant Propagation 101: "Air layering" will cover equipment needed as well as methods to reproduce such things as hibiscus, fruit trees and ornamental plants.

The center's horticulturist will lead the hands-on lesson, using plants at the botanical garden to increase their number.

Reservations are required at 638-9199. The program fee is $6 plus admission.
