HTA hires Starwood's Uchiyama as marketing director

The Hawai'i Tourism Authority has hired visitor industry veteran David Uchiyama as its new marketing director.Uchiyama most recently was regional director of communications for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Hawai'i and French Polynesia, where he handled marketing and communications for more than 10 years.
As HTA's marketing director, Uchiyama's responsibilities will include oversight of all marketing contracts for leisure marketing, business marketing including the Hawai'i Convention Center, and sporting events.
