Kaua'i names new deputy planning director

Kaua'i County's new deputy planning director will begin duties on Monday, the county announced yesterday.

Imaikalani Aiu will replace Myles Hironaka, who is returning to a senior planner position with the county. Aiu was raised on Kaua'i and served on the Planning Commission for two years. He's a 1993 graduate of Kamehameha Schools and received a bachelor's of science degree in architecture from the University of Colorado.

Aiu is currently employed as a design associate for Marc Ventura AIA.
