Tissue Genesis wins $3.8M military contract

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu-based Tissue Genesis Inc. today said it recently received a $3.8 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to continue work on regenerative medicine. Tissue Genesis expects to use therapeutic cells, recovered from an injured soldier's fat tissue to rapidly heal wounds and damaged tissue.

"We believe that there are tremendous applications for our technology in the military," said Anton Krucky, Tissue Genesis president and chief executive. "We see this contract as a vote of confidence in our work to find therapeutic solutions to acute and chronic medical conditions."

Krucky added that Tissue Genesis' plans to do clinical trials in support of soldiers and veterans are beginning to take shape.
