Retired Australian defense secretary to speak here

Richard Smith, the recently retired Australian Secretary of Defense and former ambassador to Indonesia, China and Mongolia, will speak here next week on Australia's relationship with Hawaii and developments in the Asia-Pacific region.The luncheon speech is set for noon March 20 at the Ala Moana Hotel, Garden Lanai. The event is sponsored by the East-West Center, Friends of the East-West Center, Pacific and Asian Affairs Council, and the Australian American Chamber of Commerce (Hawai'i).
