HIFF Spring Showcase set for April 20-26

Hawaii International Film Festival's 10th Annual Spring Showcase will happen at Regal Cinemas at Dole Cannery from April 20 to 26.

The showcase will feature films from countries including South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, India, the U.K., Romania, Denmark and the U.S.

The lineup includes:

  • Hal Hartley's new film, "Fay Grim" starring Parker Posey

  • "Waitress" starring Kerri Russell

  • "Eagle v. Shark, which has been called the "Polynesian Napoleon Dynamite"

  • The Japan box-office hit "Hula Girls," featuring the music of Jake Shimabukuro (which showed at last fall's HIFF)

  • The South Korean hit "200 Lb. Beauty"

  • "Bamako," co-starring and produced by Danny Glover and winner of Best Foreign Film Shot in the French language at the LumiEre Awards

  • "Red Road," one of Britain's most acclaimed films of the year,

  • "Udon," inspired by the Japanese classic "Tampopo"

    Tickets go on sale to HIFF members on April 6 and to the general public on April 12. Movie ticket prices are $10, $9 for students, seniors, children and military, and $8 for HIFF members.
