Flash flood watch remains in effect

Advertiser Staff

A flash flood watch remains in effect for O'ahu, Kaua'i and Ni'ihau until at least 4 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

O'ahu Civil Defense reported at midnight large wave activity on the Leeward Coast and on the North Shore, particularly near Sharks Cove.

Roads are still open and waves haven't crossed yet, but the waves have yet to peak.

Also, a slow-moving cold front is bringing moderate to heavy showers that could stall over some areas and cause flash flooding.

A flash flood watch means flooding is possible but not imminent.
