Construction worker dies in plunge from 46th floor

A 52-year-old man who was caulking a window at a downtown construction project fell to his death from the 46th floor of the apartment complex this morning.

City emergency services employees declared the man dead at 10:19 a.m.

The man, whose name has not been released, was caulking a window at the site of the Moana Pacific project on Kapiolani Boulevard when he slipped and fell at about 9:59 a.m.

"The entire team at the Moana Pacific is saddened by this tragic event and our thoughts and prayers are with the worker's family at this difficult time," said a news release from company spokeswoman Amy Hennessey.
