Waikiki Aquarium plans Easter Sea Hunt March 31

Advertiser Staff

Island families are invited to hop on over to the Waikiki Aquarium on Saturday, March 31, for Easter Sea Hunt, sponsored by Sky Painting. Taking place from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, the morning of Easter fun will include egg hunts for children ages 2 to 7, fishpond game, craft activity, and visits with the Easter Bunny.

The Aquarium lawn and surrounding yard will be transformed into a hunting ground and game area. Egg hunters will be assigned to small groups for the egg hunt, affording each child the opportunity to gather a designated number of eggs on the hunting ground. The Easter Bunny will make special appearances at the event and will be available for photographs, so bring your camera to take a photo with bunny.

Kids will also be able to create their own masterpieces at the Aquarium's Education craft booth and "go fish" for goodies and prizes at the game booth. In addition, visitors will enjoy access to all Aquarium exhibits and galleries, coming face-to-face with jellyfish, sea dragons, Pacific corals and a myriad of colorful reef fishes.

The egg hunt is $10 per child; children of Friends of Waikiki Aquarium members are free. There is also a $2 fee to participate in the fishpond game. Pre-registration is required. Proceeds from the Easter Sea Hunt will benefit the many programs offered at the Waikiki Aquarium. Admission to the Aquarium is $9 for visitors; $6 for local residents, active duty military with ID, students with ID and seniors; $4 for youths ages 13-17 and persons with disabilities; $2 for juniors ages 5 to 12; and free for children 4 and under and Friends of Waikiki Aquarium members.

The deadline to register for Easter Sea Hunt is Tuesday. To register or for more information, call the Waikiki Aquarium at 923-9741 - option 3, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
