Pedestrian safety bills up for hearing today at legislature

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle is expected to testify at 2:45 p.m. today before a state House committee reviewing two proposed pedestrian safety laws.

HB 375 HD1 and HB806 HD2 seek to increase penalties for violating the state's crosswalk law and to appropriate funds for a study that will identify crosswalks and intersections in need of improvement.

The hearing will be held at the Hawai'i State Capitol in conference room 224.
