Man accused in beating of 3-year-old

A 20-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly assaulted a 3-year-old child.The child was taken to a hospital on Tuesday with several "unexplained" injuries, police said.
A Kane'ohe resident told police that the child was beaten by a Kalihi man. Officers located the suspect at a Kalihi apartment and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree assault, police said.
Police would not identify the resident who tipped them to the assault or whether the man arrested on suspicion of assault was related to the child.
BOYS ACCUSED OF SCHOFIELD BARRACKS BREAK-IN
Four boys were arrested at Schofield Barracks yesterday after they allegedly broke into the home of a 30-year-old Army soldier.
Neighbors of the soldier saw the boys breaking into the man's house at 1:30 p.m. They chased the boys and captured one of them.
Honolulu police were called, and officers located the other three boys.
All four were arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, police said.
BURGLARS HELP THEMSELVES TO EATS
An 18-year-old man and a boy were arrested yesterday after they allegedly broke into a house and helped themselves to food and drink, police said.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, the pair entered the home of a 50-year-old woman and started eating her food and drinking drinks stored in her refrigerator. The woman discovered the pair and called police.
The suspects were located in the 'Ewa Beach area and arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary.
CANDY BAR RUCKUS LEADS TO ARREST
A youth was arrested after he allegedly stole a candy bar from a boy and then hit him while riding on a school bus, police said.
At 2:15 p.m. yesterday, the suspect was riding a school bus home when he decided to take the candy bar from the other boy, who got angry and took it back.
An unknown person then slapped the alleged candy bar thief, who responded by hitting the boy with the candy bar, police said.
The bus driver saw the commotion, pulled over and called police.
Responding officers arrested the boy on suspicion of third-degree assault and second-degree theft.
