Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service forecast is for partly cloudy conditions with scattered showers tomorrow and better days ahead.

"We expect the return of tradewinds and normal Hawai'i weather by the weekend," lead forecaster Sam Houston said.

A high-surf warning and wind advisory for the Big Island is expected to be lifted by 6 a.m., Houston said.

Today's showers were concentrated on the west and north sides of O'ahu. There was heavy rainfall in Kahului, Maui, 1.04 inches; Moloka'i , 1.38 inches, and Laupahoehoe on the Big Island, 1.47 inches.

High surf is expected on all north- and west-facing shores.
