HAWAI'I KAI
Line work will take rest of year

Advertiser Staff

The Board of Water Supply will spend the rest of the year working to replace underground water lines in Mariner's Cove.

The replacement of 12- and 8- inch water mains began in January and is expected to be completed by December.

During construction, residents should anticipate road closures and detours. Work will be on Kamilo Street to Hawai'i Kai Drive, Kamilo Street and Ho'opi'i Place, Opoi Street and Pao'o Street.

One lane on Niumalu Loop will be repaved, as will the portion of dug-up roadway on the other streets.

The water lines were installed in 1970, said Tracy Burgo, BWS spokeswoman.
