LIHU'E
Students off to electric tour

Advertiser Staff

Four Kaua'i high school students have been selected by the Kaua'i Island Utility Co-op to participate in the Rural Electric Youth Tour.

The four are Michael Julian of Kaua'i High, Kimberly Mayfield of Island School, Alyssa Nishihira of Waimea High and Ian Ramos of Kapa'a High.

The program, sponsored by KIUC and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, will have the four join 1,300 other high school students in Washington, D.C., in June.

They will meet with elected officials, tour Washington and learn about electric cooperatives, American history and U.S. government.
