Advertiser Urban Honolulu Writer

The Spokane Falls Community College Choir and the Hawai'i Vocal Arts Ensemble will present a free concert March 24 at the Mystical Rose Oratory at Chaminade University of Honolulu.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

Under the direction of Charles Zimmerman, the Spokane Falls Community College Choir will perform selections by Bach, Brahms, Rutter, among others. The evening will also include selections by The Chamber Singers, a select, auditioned ensemble of mostly music majors. The Hawai'i Vocal Arts Ensemble will perform works by Finzi, Duke Ellington, Randall Thompson and Irving Fine.

The Spokane Falls Chamber Singers have performed in choral festivals from California to Washington and have competed in numerous choral competitions, receiving mostly gold medals.

Now in its 15th season, the Hawai'i Vocal Arts Ensemble directed by Tim Carney is known for its tonal beauty and imaginative programming.

The ensemble is dedicated to bringing professional-level performances of significant choral repertoire to as wide an audience as possible.
