Maui inventor Pellegrin recognized by History Channel

Advertiser Staff

An air filter developed by a Wailuku, Maui resident was named one of the top 25 inventions by the History Channel's Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge.

The Challenge tapped a panel of inventors, technologists and industry experts to determine the top 25 inventions submitted from nearly 2,500 of the nation's independent inventors. The show will name one invention the 2007 Modern Marvel of the Year during Modern Marvels: Great Inventions Week on The History Channel May 15-17.

Roy Pellegrin, of Wailuku, created an aqueous-froth air filter. The filter cleans contaminated air by trapping particles and gases in bubbles and then cooling the bubbles to form water droplets that wash out the contaminants.
