Kai, U.S. women's national team here March 22-26

The U.S. Women's National Soccer team, which features former Kahuku and University of Hawaii star Natasha Kai, will be on O'ahu next week, making public appearances and holding free clinics.The team will be hold two days of free clinics at Waipi'o Soccer Complex and will make appearances at Kaka'ako Park and Waikiki Beach Walk.
The team will be here from March 22-26, with the clinics being held March 24-25.
Youth players ages 6-18 are invited to join in one of the two soccer training days that will focus on basic and special soccer skills, team work, fitness and scrimmage matches organized by age groups. Four coaching sessions will be offered daily from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and each day will finish with photo and autograph sessions.
The team will make a public appearance and sign autographs at Kaka'ako from noon to 2 p.m. March 22. Autographs and photos will be made available only while supplies last. The team will be at the courtyard of Waikiki Beach Walk from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 23.
Along with Kai, other members include Heather Mitts, Shannon Boxx, and Leslie Osbourne.
Kai became the first from Hawai'i to compete on the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team in February 2006. She made her National Team debut at the 2006 Algarve Cup in Portugal and still resides in Kahuku.
"Playing on the national team is a dream come true for me and I'm excited that I have the opportunity to return with so many of the other players to give back and support youth athletes" Kai said in an e-mail release. "Working hard and never giving up on your goals is a message that I want to deliver to these young players."
