Justin Frash and Kris Sanchez each batted 4 for 5 to lead a 14-hit attack and Hawai'i beat Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 9-2, in the opener of the four-game non-conference baseball series tonight at Les Murakami Stadium.

Ian Harrington (4-4) went 5 1/3 innings, giving up two runs and seven hits with no walks and six strikeouts for UH (16-8). Jayson Kramer pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief for his first save; he came in with one out and the bases loaded in the top of the seventh when UH led 4-2.

The Panthers jumped on Harrington in the first. Grant Berkowitz led off the game with a single to center and scored on Jesse Hart's double to left-center to give UWM a 1-0 lead before Harrington retired the next three in a row to strand Hart.

Hawai'i tied it in the bottom of the fourth. Kris Sanchez led off with a single to center, took second on a balk, advanced to third when Eli Christensen grounded out to second and scored on Vinnie Catricala's ground single to left. Catricala took second on a passed ball, but the next two batters grounded out to end the inning.

The Rainbows took the lead with a three-run fifth, thanks to two errors. With two outs, Justin Frash and Brandon Haislet reached on back-to-back singles to put runners at first and second. Sanchez reached on shortstop Grant Berkovitz's throwing error that allowed Frash to scored and Haislet to reach second. Right fielder Rob Brockel misplayed Christensen's fly to right for a three-base error, allowing to runners to score to make it 4-1. Catricala grounded out to third to strand Christensen at third.

The Panthers added a run in the sixth. Andy Heterbrueg led off with a double to left but Harrington struck out Brockel. Nich Wischler singled to left to send Heterbrueg to third. Harrington was pulled for Matt Daly, who got Troy Vesling on a sacrifice fly to center to pull UWM to 4-2. Ross McCoy flied out to left to end the inning.

But Daly labored in the seventh, getting only one out while walking three batters to load the bases. After a 1-0 count to pinch hitter Josh Groves, Daly was pulled for Jayson Kramer, who struck out Groves and got Brockel to ground out to second to leave the bases loaded.

The Rainbows added four in the seventh to chase Michalkiewicz. Hee and Frash hit back-to-back doubles to make it 5-2. After Haislet walked, Sanhcez followed with an RBI single to end Michalkiewicz night for Adam Ferrell. The Rainbows added two on a squeeze by Catricala and an RBI single by Franco to make it 8-2.
