Support facility getting off the ground at Fort Shafter

Advertiser Staff

Ground was broken last week on a $19 million project by Alutiiq-Mele LLC to design and construct modular facilities to support troops stationed at Fort Shafter.

The project includes 72,000 square feet of administrative space at four separate sites, and five arms vaults at a fifth site, all to be completed this fall.

Alutiiq-Mele is a subsidiary of Alutiiq LLC, an Alaska Native company owned by the Afognak Alutiiq people, and a partner of the Native Hawaiian Economic Alliance.
