Police investigating little girl's death

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu police are investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl who died after being found unresponsive in a car today in Makiki.

Police said they responded to a call of a juvenile needing aid in the Makiki area about 2 p.m. but when they arrived found that the victim had been transported from the scene.

Capt. Frank Johnson, a spokesman for the Honolulu Fire Department, said the victim was brought by private individuals to the Makiki Fire Station and later taken to a local hospital.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, police Det. Dwight Sato said.

Police are investigating the case as an unattended death, he said. There have been no arrests.
