Big Isle police need help with hit-and-run case

Police traffic investigators on the Big Island are asking for the public's help in locating the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run motor vehicle/pedestrian crash that occurred March 9 at 10:44 p.m. on North Kulani Road.

The victim of the hit-and-run, identified as Raymond L. Carvalho IV of Mountain View, was walking north on North Kulani Road when he was struck by a vehicle also traveling north.

Police believe the vehicle may be a blue 1999 to 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck or a blue 2000 to 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban.
