UH completes doubleheader sweep with 5-3 win

Brandon Haislet drove in three runs to lead Hawai'i over Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 5-3, today to complete a doubleheader sweep at Les Murakami Stadium.The Rainbows won the opener 10-3.
Haislet's fifth-inning, two-run double put UH ahead, 4-3; his bases loaded walk in the sixth added an insurance run.
Starter Joshua Schneider allowed three runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings for the Rainbows (18-8). Tyler Davis (3-0) pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief.
Mike Rauwerdink (0-4) gave up four runs (two earned), seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings for the Panthers (0-12)
For the third game in a row, the Panthers scored first. Kyle Silver led off the first with a single and took second on Jesse Hart's single. Both advanced on Rob Brockel's sacrifice. Silver scored when Nick Wicsher grounded out to first to make it 1-0. Shawn Wozniak grounded out to short to end the inning.
The Rainbows tied it in the bottom of the first. Derek DuPree doubled to right-center with one out. After Justin Frash flied out to center, DuPree took second when Kevin Macdonald reached on third baseman Silver's fielding error. Kris Sanchez's RBI single to right sent Macdonald to second, but Sanchez was caught off first by the catcher to end the inning.
The Panthers regained the lead in the fourth, when Shawn Wozniak led off with a home run to right-center to make it 2-1.
Hawai'i tied it in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, Evan Zimny walked, but was forced at second on Kevin Fujii's grounder to third. Nate Young lined a single to right to send Fujii to third. But right fielder Brockel's throw to the infield bounced away from shortstop Wes Munson, allowing Fujii to score and Young to take second on the error.
The Panthers took back the lead in the fifth. Hart singled with one out and took third on Brockel's double to left-center. Schneider was pulled for Tyler Davis. Nich Wicsher reached on a single to short, as the runners held to load the bases. Wozniak grounded to second for a force at second to allow the run to score and put runners at the corners. Davis then got Wozniak caught in a fake pick-oof move that eventually got Brockel out in a rundown between third and home.
The Rainbows took the lead for the first time in the bottom of the fifth. With two outs, Macdonald walked and Sanchez singled to put runners at first and second. Both scored on Haislet's double to center. Haislet took third on a wild pitch before Zimny walked. Fujii was hit by a pitch to load the bases, but Young flied out to right to leave the bases loaded with UH leading, 4-3.
Hawai'i got insurance in the sixth on a bases loaded walk by Haislet by reliever Andy Ferrell, who started the inning, to make it 5-3.
