UH's Sheppard matches qualifying mark in high jump

University of Hawai'i sophomore Emily Sheppard had personal bests in the high jump and long jump at the Northridge Invitational Saturday in Northridge, Calif.

Sheppard matched her personal best of 5-8 3/4 in the high jump for a regional qualifying mark, and set a PR in the long jump with 17-0. She finished second in both events.

Sophomore Thalia Amanakis won the 400-meter hurdles in a personal-best 1:00.90 to just miss a regional qualifying time.
