HPU defeats S. Connecticut State, 10-4, in baseball

Spencer Omalza had four hits and three RBIs as Hawai'i Pacific defeated Southern Connecticut State, 10-4, today in a non-conference baseball game at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

Danny Lee hit a solo homer, Johnny Gentry added three hits and Turhan Folse allowed five hits and three earned runs in seven innings to earn the victory for the Sea Warriors (12-9).

Nick Czekaj hit a two-run homer for the Owls (4-11).

On Saturday, David Chow scattered eight hits, struck out three and did not walk a batter as HPU completed a sweep of a doubleheader with a 4-0 victory.

Geoffrey Say had two hits for the Sea Warriors. Jim McLaughlin and Mo Davidson each had two hits for the Owls.

In the first game, Omalza's three-run homer sparked a five-run first inning that propelled HPU to a 12-9 victory.

Gentry and Tripper Chung each had two hits and three RBIs for the Sea Warriors. Czekaj and Anthony Fiorillo homered for Southern Connecticut.
