St. Andrew's wins in 4 OTs

Advertiser Staff

Minna Watanabe scored a game-high 40 points as host St. Andrew's outlasted Kamehameha, 84-81, in four overtimes last night in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II game.

"It was a great game," said St. Andrew's coach Ross Kinsler, whose team outscored the Warriors, 7-4, in the fourth OT. "You don't get to be a part of a quadruple-overtime game often. Our team knocked down some big free throws."

St. Andrew's Noelani Kawashima hit a 3-pointer to send the game to its second overtime, and Kamehameha's Jamie-Marie Ferrigno, who finished with 22 points, banked in a 3 to push the game to the third OT.

Kellee Tom added 17 points for St. Andrew's (2-0).

Kamehameha's (2-1) Brandi Kohatsu scored 15, Kapua Chandler 13 and Brittany Courtney 11.
