Repairs to Wahiawa water main nearly complete

Advertiser Staff

Crews are close to completing repairs on a broken 16-inch water main that disrupted service to Whitmore Village and upper Wahiawa for much of the day.

Service should be restored after midnight, a Board of Water Supply spokeswoman said.

The water main break on Nichols Street in Whitmore Village shut off water service for an undisclosed number of customers, according to BWS.

Officials are asking residents of Whitmore Village, upper Wahiawa — Wahiawa District Park area, Kellog Street, Ihoiho Place and areas above — to limit water use while crews repair the main.

Workers set up an emergency pumper to boost water from the lower Wahiawa system to the upper system that services Whitmore Village and upper Wahiawa residents.
