Australian designer to launch new line at fundraiser

Australian designer Melia Conrad will launch a new clothing line at a fundraiser on Thursday at The O Lounge.

Proceeds from "Impressions of Melia" will benefit the Women's Fund of Hawaii, which funds nonprofit organizations serving women and girls. (Visit www.womensfundhawaii.org for more information.)

Conrad, a mother and the associate editor of Ward Centers Magazine, lives in Makakilo. She studied fashion and textile design at the University of Technology in Sydney.

Her designs can be found at Split Obsession in Hawai'i Kai and The Butik on Kapi'olani Boulevard.

Cost is $20 ($22 at the door) and includes pupu offerings, Australian wine, door prizes and a hula performance by Miss Hawai'i Pilialoha Gaison. KHON's morning anchor Tannya Joaquin will emcee the event, which is from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
