Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard sets Saturday job fair

The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard will hold its annual job fair Saturday to recruit workers for its apprenticeship program.

More than 2,000 job seekers are expected at the event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Honolulu Community College Marine Education Training Center, 10 Sand Island Access Road.

Those selected for the 100 positions will earn $17 an hour while also earning an associate degree in applied trades from Honolulu Community College.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, be 18 years old by Jan 6, 2008, and be a high school or GED graduate. Applications are available online at https://acep.hawaii.navy.mil. For more information, call 4733-8000, ext. 2749.
