Northwest to fly Airbus A330 from Japan to Hawai'i

Northwest Airlines said it will begin flying Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft for flights from Honolulu to Tokyo and Osaka.

Northwest also said it plans to add a daily flight from Tokyo during the peak July 1 to Aug. 31 season, increasing the airline's daily service to three flights. The third flight is subject to government approval.

Northwest, which began taking delivery of the Airbus A330 aircraft in August 2003, said its currently has 14 298-seat A330-300s and 12 longer-range, 243-seat A330-200s in its aircraft fleet.
