Schofield closes Lyman Gate

Advertiser Staff

Schofield Barracks' Lyman Gate will be closed through June 30 for construction, the Army said.

The $630,104 project, conducted by Niking Corp., includes repaving and widening traffic lanes.

Contractors and visitors are to enter Schofield via McNair Gate, while others who normally use Lyman Gate are directed to Foote or McNair gates. After some initial "growing pains" last week, traffic on Kunia Road has returned to normal levels, the Army said.

The Army said it is monitoring traffic and has made several adjustments, including increasing manpower at the gates and adjusting timing on traffic lights.
