Punchbowl officials issue reminder on grave flowers

Advertiser Staff

Officials at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific have issued a reminder that potted plants and artificial flowers may be placed at grave sites beginning Tuesday, April 3, for Easter. They will be removed on Monday, April 16. All prematurely placed items will be removed.

Also, permanent plantings, statues, vigil lights, glass objects of any kind and other types of commemorative items, including toys such as pinwheels, balloons, stuffed toys or other similar articles are not permitted.

Floral items and other decorations may not be secured to headstones or markers.

Metal hooks may not be used to secure potted plants or other decorations as they present safety hazards during mowing operations.
