Ex-Colt Stokley signs with Broncos

Former Indianapolis Colts receiver Brandon Stokley agreed in principle on a one-year contract with the Denver Broncos, his agent said.

Stokley, 30, played in only four games for the Colts last year because of injuries, including a ruptured right Achilles' tendon that ended his season.

Stokley's agent, Rick Smith, didn't disclose financial terms of the agreement in a telephone interview. ESPN said Stokley, an eight-year National Football League veteran, agreed to an incentive-laden contract worth more than $1 million.

Stokley had his best NFL season in 2004, when he caught 68 passes for 1,077 yards and 10 touchdowns for Indianapolis. Stokley, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne that season became the first trio in NFL history to have at least 1,000 receiving yards and 10 scores each.

In 74 games with the Colts and Baltimore Ravens, Stokley has 199 catches for 2,829 yards and 22 touchdowns. The Broncos' receiving corps also includes Javon Walker, Rod Smith, Brandon Marshall, Quincy Morgan and Domenik Hixon.
